Glenzeil are committed to maintaining extremely high standards in workplace health and safety. In 2007 we won the Master Builders Award for Safety on the Jupiters Casino project and we actively promote and adopt work practices that meet legislated requirements as a minimum. This was a very difficult project which involved the continued operation of the Monorail over and near the worksite, together with a high volume of pedestrian traffic during the day and night.
This is a testament to our commitment to Workplace Health and Safety. Glenzeil Pty Ltd fully accepts it’s legal and moral obligations and is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all persons who may be affected by its operations and activities, undertaken at the workplaces under its direct control.
Glenzeil’s Safety Policy will be achieved by way of the Directors of Glenzeil Pty Ltd providing the necessary human and financial resources to Glenzeil personnel, so that they can effectively administer and maintain an acceptable level of workplace health and safety and training at the workplace.
At the pre-commencement meeting each project, objectives and targets will be set to align with the scope and complexity of the project. They will reflect the company targets and other key targets relevant to the project. These objectives and targets will be monitored and reviewed monthly.
A Construction Workplace Safety Plan is maintained on all projects and constantly reviewed by our full time Site Safety Officers. The Group Safety Manager and or External Auditors regularly audit projects for compliance.
Glenzeil have a zero tolerance to safety breaches. This is strenuously enforced and disciplinary action taken if any workplace safety breaches occur. This tough stance is essential to maintaining our high level of safety management.
A safe site is the cornerstone of an efficient work place. Only site personnel with the necessary qualifications, experience and dedication to administer this policy will be assigned to the workplace, therefore ensuring compliance with this company objective.
On each construction project, all workers are to undergo a site specific safety induction.
Each worker engaged on any workplace under the control of Glenzeil Pty Ltd and its subcontractors will be instructed in the expected and acceptable standard of compliance with site safety rules as a minimum.
Consultation is to be undertaken at all workplaces by means of an OHS Committee, an OHS representative, site specific meetings and toolbox or combination of those means.
Glenzeil Senior Managers demonstrate leadership and commitment by regularly visiting sites to discuss OHS issues with site management, employees and other workers.
We are a member of the Zero Harm At Work Leadership Program and will continuously strive to achieve the ultimate goal of zero harm to all our employees and subcontractors who work at our offices and construction sites.
